In connection with the information from March 5 about the change of the date of 13th PKO Poznań Half Marathon due to the epidemic threat (today the state of the epidemic) caused by Coronawirus SARS-CoV-2, we would like to inform you that a new date has been set. The 13th PKO Poznań Half Marathon will take place on April 18, 2021.
All persons who have paid the entry fee will receive a refund. Nothing needs to be reported by email or phone. You can read more about the refund details here.
The above decision is dictated by several factors. One of the most important is the willingness to cooperate with other race organizers in Poland in order to not double the runs on the same dates.
We considered the deadline of October 17-18, 2020. However, due to already planned in the abovementioned weekend the 3 events: 21. PKO Poznań Marathon, World Half Marathon Championships in Gdynia and Royal Half Marathon in Krakow, we have not decided on such a step not to force runners to choose between these prestigious running events.
Another important reason that affected the withdrawal from the organization of the 13 PKO Poznań Half Marathon on 17-18 October 2020, were the requests of many runners who reached us through social media, emails and telephones not to organize the Half Marathon in the abovementioned time.
We organize our runs for you runners. Your voice is important to us and whenever we can, we take your suggestions into account, because each of the runners is an integral part of the Poznań Half Marathon and Poznań Marathon.
In this difficult time for all organizers of sporting events, as well as runners, we are convinced that we should support each other and facilitate the functioning of the running industry so that everyone suffers the smallest losses, both financial and the image.
We count on your understanding. Remember that
“Adversities that we have to face often make us stronger.
And what seems like a loss today could be a profit tomorrow.” – Nick Vujicic
All information regarding the organization of the race in the new date, including the date of starting the registration, will be published successively on the website and social media from April 2020.
